Today was a fantastic day.
Prairiedancer had started off with a half a lizard (one of his favourites) and followed up with a jaunt through the territory. The approach of greenleaf kept the land warm, but not unbearable during dusk and dawn. It was the perfect weather to sniff out some scaly sunbathing prey, or take a turn sunning on the flat stones himself. Even better, the young warrior had found a fun little treasure out in the territory - a couple shiny stones shaken loose from the neigbouring sediment. The smoother stone had been donated to the nursery of course; it had been round enough to roll around but not so small that one of the younger ones would accidentally swallow it.
The other one, a little more jagged but no less pretty with its translucent reds, was placed in front of the apricot tabby. He wasn't entirely certain what he would do with it. His mother wouldn't be interested in the shiny find, and he doubted his older brother would bat an eyelash. Cactuscurl ... might be interested, but only out of care for her brother. So the fun little rock was his for sure, and he had to figure out where to stash it later. For now, the warrior nibbled at the other half of his lizard, gently turning the stone over to inspect how it caught the light with its deceptively smooth surface. Maybe he'd go exploring, see what other cool things he could find. After he did something productive, of course. Probably.
