Aster nodded and laid as comfortably as she could while stretching her injured paw out, dipping her head to lap up the poppy seeds offered. She trusted Butterfly’s steady paws and shrugged saying, “I’ve had scraps and cuts before that you put herbs on. I’ll be fine.” She gave the white molly a small reassuring smile and did her best to keep her paw still.
It didn’t take long for the poppy seeds to kick in and drowsiness pulling a yawn from her. By the time Butterfly applied the marigold, Aster had rested her chin on the edge of the nest. Her ears flicked backwards as the only sign of discomfort as the marigold juice stung and seeped into her fur. “Thank you, again.” She murmured and shifted to look at the Poolwalker’s handiwork, “I’ll try to heal fast so I’m not taking up space for someone that really needs it.” The tan colored molly yawned again and settled back down in the comfort of the nest, her tail curled neatly against her belly. Her eyes drifted closed as she took in the scents of the Poolwalker’s den, smelling of herbs, the tribe, and Butterfly herself.
