Coveclan Guide
Located on the outskirts of all the clan territories, salty ocean air sweeps through the rolling hills and coves of Coveclan. In the wrong spot, you might catch a chill. But placed atop the hills that protect the coves and along the shoreline where the waves lap lazily the edge of the ground, a warmth and peace will settle upon you. Jagged rocks emerge from the sand and, in certain areas, small pools of fresh water gather. Small shrubbery grows hidden amongst the cove alongside plenty of moss that is forever damp and fluffy - both perfect and terrible for dens.
Coveclan is home to gorgeous sunsets, but they are not always accompanied by calm weather. The territory is beautiful and idyllic, but come leaf-bare, the waves begin to roar and rise, the wind starts to bite, and the coves howl in dismay as their home is battered. Lives have been lost to the volatile wind that can push and pull you into the unforgiving tides.
1) Plenty of light
2) Vulnerable to harsh winds
3) Unpredictable currents can sweep away unwary cats
Mossclan Guide
In the center of the clan territories lies Mossclan. Nestled away in the towering trees, suffocating shrubs, and the damp air that leaves a fog forever lingering hesitantly above the ground, this territory boasts a reputation for being eerie and daunting. From an outsider's point of view, they will only see the striking shadows and glinting eyes. They will fail to see the bubbling brooks, the tiny birds flitting among the trees, and the foxgloves that dangle beneath the shade. Ferns and bracken wall off pathways and bramble patches blossom every spring. Dense is the best word to describe this territory, but it is peaceful.
This territory is perfect for the days when wind howls and rain lashes down upon the territories. The thickness of the greenery protects them from the storms that tumble over the hills and the trees take the brunt force of any harsh winds that may batter objects that get in its way. However, the forest is not without risk. It is old, and branches or whole trees are susceptible to falling even outside of fierce weather. Flash floods and mudslides, while not exactly common, are also enough of a risk that cats are advised to stay in their dens during particularly brutal rainstorms.
1) Protected from the sun and wind
2) Vulnerable to damp soil and dying wood
3) Trees can fall at a moments notice
Meadowclan Guide
Stretching fields, bouncy moss, fresh air, and swaying trees are all commonplace within Meadowclan territory. Named after the rolling hills that make up the majority of this part of the new territories, this Clan is knowing for their blooming flowers and fresh water streams that trickle throughout the sloping hills. These fields are often subjected to windy weather; cats who live here do not have the protection of Coveclan's tall hills or Mossclan's dense forests. Thankfully, cats may find reprieve from both the wind and the sun by staying close to the ground and hiding amongst the tallgrass. It is not uncommon for small, summer fires to spread throughout the territory, especially near the Gorseclan border.
Picturesque but dangerous. A cat is not likely to get lost in territory but, because of the sparse forests, lush grass, and plenty of access to water, predator and prey alike gather in these fields. Young cats are advised to travel with another to reduce the risk of becoming victims of foxes, snakes, and other predators. In addition to the roaming predators, Meadowclan is often subjected to harsh new-leaf showers that can flood the streams and leave the ground damp and sticky.
1) Windy
2) Predators frequently roam the land
3) A lot of rivers - can lead to drowning if unsupervised.

Gorseclan Guide
Similar to Meadowclan, Gorseclan is on an open stretch of shrubland that sits in the southeast. As expected, gorse grows in heaps and bounds along this sloping, cavern-filled terrain. Although it is the driest of all the territories, it is not a desert, and greenery can be found almost everywhere except the Valley of Spires. Gorseclan is the perfect home for a cat that has a sandy coat and fur that is on the slightly thinner side. Along with the graceful, rolling hills that are home to heather and pointed stones, Gorseclan also plays host to a cave system. The camp sits snugly within the confines of a rock formation where it is protected from most but not all.
The geologic formations found in Gorseclan are astounding. In addition to the main rivers that flow along their borders, there are several cold, freshwater springs, including one right outside camp. These scattered springs can quickly become areas of contention with wandering predators, as they do not dry up during droughts. Seasonal, small-scale fires are also not uncommon, though it is very rare that they blaze across the whole territory.
1) Seasonal fires
2) Susceptible to drought
3) The caves can leave the Clan cats weak to rogue/predator attacks
Tribe of Painted Pools Guide
The tribe occupies the northeast section of the territories. Cliffs torn into pieces from waterfalls come tumbling down to a lake. During the snowmelts towards the end of leaf-bare, huge amounts of water can come pouring down, feeding into the lake and down the various rivers that snake across the land. Seated in the middle of the lake is an island, roughly in the shape of a paw. The island opens up into a cave that dips below water-level; the tribe resides in these caves which are lit up by the gentle glow of mushrooms. The cave splits off into several corridors, each spot dedicated to a certain tribe role. Range-guards are in charge of reinforcing the cave entrance so water accumulation is not a concern. Most trees that dot the island and the perimeter of the lake are short in stature and home to songbirds and other various arboreal animals. The lake is also rich with fish. A cat with water aversion could possibly maintain a dry pelt if they carefully hopped from rock to rock from the mainland and back to the island.
The walk up to the cliffs can prove to be treacherous to the untrained cat. The rocks are smoothed by the never-ending stream of water, moistened moss as the only padding one can grip onto. Salmon skip up these stones once a year, and the climb may be worth it. Be incredibly wary of large birds of prey, as a fight can knock you off your footing or, worse, cause you to be snatched and disappear forever. Due to the danger, the Poolwalker and senior tribe members are the only ones allowed to venture into this area.
1) The air is moist--cats rarely catch a cough
2) The Cliffs are dangerous
3) Land quality varies towards clan borders
Hidden Hills - Outsiders
The Hidden Hills are just a few fox-lengths south of Meadowclan. For kittypets and soft loners, this is a haven from the unforgiving wilderness that the clans reside in. Visits from two-legs are frequent here, especially during the warmer moons. A few even stay permanently, though they rarely venture towards the clans. They may feed the cats some hard pebbly-like food, and though this may seem like a blessing to cats that have difficulty hunting, it can also attract predators.
Rolling waves of grass sing a quiet tune of thanks to the soft glow of the sun. Wildflowers of all colors come together in pillowy patches and dot the landscape. Fat bees lazily hover around. Some rabbits live here, though you’ll have to be quick to catch them. This is a popular area for loners to inhabit and peacefully live amongst each other, doing their best to not overstep onto clan territory. A little group of cabins sits on the south end.
1) Peaceful cabin life
2) Cat food left for kittypets and loners may attract various predators
3) Frequent two-leg destination
No Cat's Land - Outsiders
No Cat's Land is a large strip of territory that spans from behind the Tribe cliffs to the northern end of Gorseclan. No Cat's land is seems completely inhospitable, barely able to sustain itself with the few droplets of water it receives every moon, but life finds a way. Feeding on plants and other animals are the main way to get water here. The massive geologic system that spans the earth beneath the Tribe and Gorseclan also reaches here, so if one is lucky, you may be fortunate enough to find oases that have sprung up by a few tiny springs. These oases are hotspots for both predator and prey alike, and the scarcity of water leads to uneasy truces being made.
The rain-shadow effect leaves moist of the moisture on the southern face, explaining why the Tribe has so many waterfalls and fog, but leaves not even a drop for No Cat’s Land. Dust tumbles around in a never-ending storm, changing the landscape in the blink of an eye. Local fauna, like insects and reptiles, usually only come out at night. A cat could possibly live here if they occupied the tight underground burrows dug by other mammals and roamed only during the night. It would be a difficult life, but still a life nonetheless. Watch your step and don’t get lost.
1) Completely undisturbed
2) Very little rain
3) Easy to get lost.
Starclan Guide
A mirror image of the territories that rest upon the earth. Starclan is home to the rolling hills, the trees that stand strong, and the water that rushes through the rivers. The only difference that comes with living in Starclan? All the bad weather that one may have experienced when alive does not exist. The stars that linger idly by the ground, pushed around easily by a simple breeze, ensure that the ground is forever rich with the nutrients and water needed. The ponds and streams are cool to lap at and are forever fresh. The prey that scurries around are simply there if an ancestor decides that they want to eat - but they are not bound by the earthly ties that make them need food to survive.
1) No adverse weather effects
2) Plenty of prey and water
3) Borders on Dark Forest - extremely rare for a Starclan cat to cross into Dark Forest Territory.
The Place of No Stars Guide
Decaying, rotten, and cold. The Place of No Stars is the ultimate destination for any cat that has lived a life full of deceit, anger, and violence. With winding forests and a suffocating fog that lays thick upon a ground, this forest is a labyrinth that takes moons upon moons to figure out. Any live cats that appear in the Dark Forest are often subjected to not knowing how long they have been in this dying forest for. Whilst they would have slept through one night, it might have felt they had been trapped in there for a moon. Forever humid, damp, and rotten, this forest offers nothing but darkness and misery. Any prey that scuttles through here are skeletons and shells of what they would have been should they have been spawned in the Starclan grounds instead.
1) Air is thick and hard to breathe in
2) Very little prey, water is often dirty
3) Border on Starclan - extremely rare for a Dark Forest cat to cross into Starclan territory.
Tribe of Endless Hunting
Similar to Starclan in all things except terrain, this heavenly space is filled with jagged mountains that cause no damage to the paw pads that may tread upon them. The weather is always perfect and the sun never seems to lose its warmth (even when it snows). The Tribe of Endless Hunting is the perfect sanctuary for a cat being put to rest. The signature glowing mushrooms decorate this afterlife, but they also emit faint stars like spores, twinkling for a bit before fading away.
1) Even in snow, the cats are never cold
2) Plethora of resources
3) Similar to Starclan but in a mountainous terrain instead
Tribe of Harrowed Howls
Much like the Dark Forest, the haunted mountainous range is pungent with the smell of death. Every step a cat takes sinks and sucks in their paw as though the ground is trying to swallow you whole. The glints of what could be the glowing mushrooms that offer solace and beauty in the Tribe of Endless Hunting are, more often than not, the glint of snarling teeth waiting to snap you up. Hunger hangs heavy in your stomach like a plague. The prey that scuttles here are sickly little things that taste like sand and dry out your mouth--it is often preferable to leave them be. This is a place of punishment, and it almost seems alive.
1) The ground is thick and sluggish in texture
2) Prey is very little here
3) Similar to the Dark Forest but in a mountainous area instead
