Appearance:
There was no hesitation in the decision to call Bear that Catches Fish a prey-hunter (and later water-wader). She has always been a lithe creature, from a scraggly kitten to a lanky apprentice to a lean young adult. Her blue eyes, only slightly darkened from the light hue common in kittens, are wide and alert, betraying her awareness. As far as appearances go, she's fairly plain - chocolate fur covers a lean shape, the sort of body associated with the archetypal hunter that Bear embodies. Her posture in the company of others can come across as rather stiff - her natural resting position is exacting and purposeful, with stiff movements and over-aware stances. When hunting, the stiffness that accompanies her motions melts away, leaving fluid crouches and actions that further contribute to the archetype she embodies. Because of her character, Bear tends towards stoicism. Most of her expressions are communicated through the slightest of details - a twitch of the ear or whisker - leaving a mask of stoicism difficult to interpret.
Personality
Positive Traits: • Vigilant • Determined • Exact | Negative Traits: • Insecure • Withdrawn • Anxious |
Personality:
Even when she was a child, Bear that Catches Fish was a quiet creature. She was the absolute wallflower when juxtaposed again her louder siblings - very few complaints ever left her, and even fewer were made without consideration. Even now, the molly has quiet proclivities. Her awareness is supported by her tendency to fade into the background, a natural consequence of her quiet and withdrawn nature. From the outside looking in, Bear that Catches Fish seems to be reserved to a fault; willing to face any matter of conflict with silence. This is somewhat untrue; while Bear's primary response is to quietly observe, there are a few matters on which she refuses to budge. She has a strong sense of justice, and a bone-deep determination forged from her experiences. Though rarely called upon (usually only in situations when the 'helpless' or 'underprivileged' are being targeted), Bear is able to tap into a level of determination and stubbornness that comes across as incredibly uncharacteristic. However, her usual silence seems to be enforced by terror. When attempting to speak, she sometimes experiences such intense anxiety or fear that she is rendered silent as a whole - this is due to events in her past. Hyper-vigilance accompanies this fear-motivated quiet.

Character Background
History:
Bear that Catches Fish was one of three kittens born to Coyote that Howls at Night and Cloud that Passes over Peaks. Despite being a modest and reserved molly, her childhood was anything but. Before the drastic events that ended with the loss of her home and family, the brown kitten was much quieter when compared to her brother and sister. She was the epitome of a wallflower, well-behaved and soft-spoken. This reservation was only cemented as the clans and tribe fought, as twolegs came and tore about their territory, and as various other disasters befell both her home and her family. Her father went missing during the twoleg invasion, while her mother and her siblings lost their lives during the same time. Black of Moonless Night kept her close after the Tribe was ravaged by the one-two punch of the warfare and twoleg disasters. The two of them travelled for some time, and eventually became clanners.
During the time with the clans, Bear and Black would offer each other the chance to call each other by their true names and dream of a world where the Tribe was alive and well. Even when she lived in a clan and took the 'paw suffix expected of one her age, Bear held fast to her heritage and the identity of prey-hunter she'd been born into. Unfortunately, disaster was not yet done with her - the clan was attacked by dangerous rats, plagued with an unknown contagion. She disappeared from the clans during this time, before she could get her warrior name (which was due to be done at the next moon's ceremony).
For some time, Bear that Catches Fish wandered along. She became a nomad of sorts, able to hunt and care for herself. Her travels exposed her to a number of odd interactions with other loners, but the most significant occurrence was her time with a small rogue band. After running into one of the rogues and not having the wherewithal to make an escape (she would have been only a handful of moons older than an apprentice at that point), Bear spent just under two moons with the small group. It was a terrifying time - long periods of tension punctuated by violence (towards others or herself). Her defence was to remain silent, and this worked more times than not (contributing to her current proclivity towards silence). Eventually she was able to split from the group due to a combination of her own determination and the assistance of another within the group itself.
Nomadic once more, the molly spent several moons without a word. She kept to herself, veered out of the way of anyone she may have run into, and wandered with little rhyme or reason. When meteors began to streak against the sky, Bear found herself following them without fully understanding why - luckily for her, it led her back to both her mentor and the Tribe.
