Appearance:
Hail is a classic pale gray tabby with darker markings and white spotting. His fur is a soft, light gray adorned with darker swirl like markings. His front and hind legs have ring like stripes around them, that stretch into a stripe upward. Connected to his stripes is a dark streak starting at his forehead, running all the way down to the tip of his tail. His underbelly, paws, chest, and face have white markings as well as gray stripes framing his eyes and muzzle. His wide eyes are bright and gentle, shimmering with a beautiful amber color much like his father's.
He's still quite a young cat, but during the journey he's grown out of his kit fluff (sort of!) His clumsiness has slowly faded with age, and his time travelling the lands have provided him with some muscle and sleek limbs. His fur, now long and feathery, has smoothed out a bit and frames his round face. Behind his left ear he keeps a Northern Flicker feather, gifted to him by Black of Moonless Night.

Personality:
Hail has empathy for any cat he meets, always searching for the best in others in pure kindness.Sure, he's shy around others, but he cares deeply for them and would gladly help when needed. With great tenderness he treats all living things, be it bug, plant, or animal. He has room in his heart for all. He tries to take each point of view into consideration before making any decision and accommodate to other's needs. Determined to make his family proud and will willingly do whatever he believes to be right, even if he's scared and or nervous. He's a bit emotional, but in a serious situation he'd be able to compose himself and do whatever must be done. He's aware of his weaknesses, and because of this is determined to prove himself. He holds others in a high regard, respectful and appreciative of the work they each do. He admires them for their strength and strives to work harder, inspired by his tribe and family. Hail is a polite cat. He thinks it's important to show appreciation to others, offering praise and thanks when we can. He's very grateful for the efforts of everyone. Every role is just as important, he believes. This tom is pure sweetness, seemingly not having a bad bone in his body. He loves seeing the cats he cares about happy.
All cats have their faults, and Physical strength is one of them. Clearly he's a bit on the smaller side, and completely hesitant to any sort of violence. He would avoid bringing harm to another cat, making him vulnerable in any sort of fight and practically unable to defend himself and others. He may try to fight if it was an emergency, though it's unlikely it would go well anyway. He's a self conscious cat, often doubting the choices he makes and whether or not he's correct. He may tend to overthink things, sending himself into a flurry of complicated thoughts and excessive worrying. He may get over this a bit once he learns more, but as of now his confidence is slim to none. A sort of inferiority complex would be a good way to describe him. One of his greatest fears is disappointing his family. This has always been the case and is unlikely to change.

Character Background
History:
Hail was born to Ashlight and Blackmoon to Peakclan along with his sisters Larkkit, Emberkit and Kestrelkit under an agreement between non mates. Emberkit died at birth, which only stengthened the fierce protection and care his parents held. Though there was no love between the pair, he didn't feel any lack of love toward the littermates and himself. They were caring and strong parents. As Hailkit of Peakclan, this tom was a shy little thing. His parent's respected reputations were intimidating- yet inspiring. Him and his siblings spent their days playing and getting to know their clanmates, with Hail recieving gentle nudges from his sisters. All seemed well, especially to an oblivious kitten, until tensions rose.
One frightening night the camp was raided, overrun with rats with the intent to kill. It struck the kitten hard, and he cried for his father who fought for their clan. Thanks to him and their warriors, they were safe once more. Soon after, Ashlight wasn't the same. She had begun to act... different. Manipulative, mean, possessive. Perhaps it was the rats, or just something simmering under the surface until then. It felt a bit like he was losing his mother, but he never said this to anyone. She still cared, right? Inner turmoil left him on edge for a while. Then something good came into the picture, Morningstep. A kind hearted, sweet molly who seemed to have swept his father off his feet. It warmed his heart to see Blackmoon happy, finally after everything. It was okay again. He didn't need Ashlight, because now there was Morningstep. Everything was going to be okay... Until his world began to fall apart.
With the family drama, the rats, all this pressure was building up, growing into something worse. Much worse. It was like the buildup before a storm, dark clouds stretching across his skies. Hail was too young to understand the complexity of what was happening, but he knew it scare him. He had always hated fighting of any kind and this was the worst. The clans crumbled. Cats fought to the death, stealing from eachother as the twolegs stole their health and happines from the clan cats. Just like before, Blackmoon protected his family. He was his hero yet again. Few remained after it all. Just a pawful of survivors, thank Starclan his family was part of that group. The worst was done, but it wasn't over yet. No, there was a message for the remaining cats. Perhaps the first of many for Hail... A voice, feminine and soothing, spoke to them that night.
"Follow the clawmarks in the night. The stars are bound to your paws and will bring you home."
The moon following was filled with meteor shower filled skies and heavy paws leading them toward the horizon. Hail stuck with his family for 5 moons of travelling. Where to? He didn't know, but following his father was something he never doubted. They were all together, and that was what mattered. No matter what happens, as long as he had his family, he knew he'd be alright. After some time they finally found somewhere new, somewhere safe. Everyone split up and joined their new clans, and found their new homes. But their journey wasn't over yet.
Blackmoon led them onward, past the clans toward something different. A cat approached them, smelling of stone and cool water that he'd never encountered before. He was no clan cat, that much was obvious. Hail watched with wide eyes as his father embraced this tom. Though confused, he could tell they knew eachother, and listened closely as they spoke of a tribe. Shy as ever, he timidly said hello to this newcomer. It seemed they had found their home!
Now a part of the tribe, the littermates left their clan names behind and took up tribe names. Black took back his tribe name as well, and now the family is adjusting to tribe life, ready to start anew in their home. Being a to-be wasn't what he expected, but he's adjusting and preparing himself for a new adventure!
