Paws pounded against the spongy earth. Narrowed, amber eyes glinted in the barely there sunlight that peeked hesitantly though the thick canopy. A harsh wind pushed into the frigid air and the breathing of a coloured molly came out in small puffs of smoke. Darting, twisting, ducking and weaving throughout the grounds that were now all too familiar, the molly came to an abrupt halt, large ears flicking backwards and forwards as she tried to sense where her mate was.
Allowing a smirk to curl on her face, the slim she-cat crouched down amongst the dancing bushes, her coat blending in with the sun-set kissed terrain. Whiskers twitching and eyes narrowed as she waited for Waveheart to appear in the agreed area, the young leader couldn't help but let out a pleased, rumbling purr. This tom had no idea what was going to hit him today.
But Starclan forbid if she let him get the information out of her with ease. Definitely not. No, he was going to have to work for it. The beginning test? Winning this little competition she had decided on, on their walk over. They had simply been walking to their destination when Pebblestar paused, jabbed Waveheart and then bounded off with a teasing call of 'catch me if you can!'. Luckily, her lithe body and dainty paws allowed her to almost skip through the territory.
All that was left, now, was for Waveheart to find her. Heh. Cat: PebblestarClan:MossclanTags:@twilightWords:250

Waveheart - MossClan Words: 380 Tag: amberBrambles and nettles were ever present at the edge of Waveheart’s vision as he ran through the forest. A playful glint sparkled in his gaze as he leaped up onto the lower twisting branches that seemed to create their own path in the territory. The damp bark held well in the tom’s gripping front claws, and muscle moved beneath fur to pull the rest of his body up with him. The gray tom was always fascinated by how easy it seemed to be to climb like this; it was one of the last things Waveheart expected to succeed at when the Clan cats had settled. Regardless, it wasn’t the only change MossClan brought with it. It had felt to him like all those peaceful moments with Pebblestar had disappeared in an instant, though understandable with the two’s new statuses. And of course, now that they got a moment alone somewhere besides the den at night, she wanted to make it a game where she ran away from him. A light grin crossed his face in amusement as the gray tom thought it through, leaping across branches to catch up. He came to a halt just before the edge of the trees and the river, opening his mouth to scent the air and glancing around the forest below. The bright setting sun caused him to narrow his eyes - suppose he was getting used to the shadows in the thickly forested territory - when the yellow-green gaze caught sight of a disturbed bit of brush around their little meeting spot. Waveheart leaped down out of the tree and bounded in the small area. A tuft of Pebblestar’s fur caught his eye at the forest’s edge, and her scent seemed to flood his nose as he stepped closer. So she’s here… of course. He turned again to look across the area, this time noticing a rather cat-shaped bit of sunlight in a bush. Waveheart grinned as he walked over and crouched down to look into the bush, eye to eye with his much smaller and sunset colored mate. “So we finally get a moment alone after moons, and you decide the best activity is to run away from me? Am I really that bad as a mate?” He swiped a paw at Pebblestar, purring.

Laughing joyfully, Pebblestar ducked away from his swiping paw and barrelled forwards so she collided with her mate. "I don't know what you're talking about!" She exclaimed with a purr tumbling out from her throat.
Whiskers twitching and tail waving, Pebblestar hopped away from him and scrambled up onto a nearby bolder, striking a pose that screamed of nothing but confidence and happiness. Though home-sickness still hit her at random moments, the young leader found that she was beginning to settle into Mossclan territory with relative ease.
Although, anyone would find the transition easy when they had a much such as Waveheart by her side. Though her heart still stung at the death of her close friend Rattledance, it was soothed and comforted by the one who had been there for her ever since she was nothing more than a young apprentice.
It was actually one of the reasons why she had pestered Waveheart until he agreed to go on a leisurely stroll with her in their new home. Cat: PebblestarClan:MossclanTags:@twilightWords:177

Waveheart - MossClan Words: 261 Tag: amber Waveheart’s head shook lightly at his mate’s antics as he lifted himself from her tackle. He was always worried leadership would eventually catch up with her, that she would become someone other than the excitable and goofy molly he’d fallen for. So far, Pebblestar had held out, but it was often a little prick in the back of his mind. He’d love her regardless, of course; it was more a fear for her own emotions and mind than his own. He settled back to sit as she bounded around in front of him, licking a paw to swipe across his twitching ear. A slight tilt of his head gave him a full view of Pebblestar’s proud pose atop the boulder. The light of the early dusk brightened her coat, with her long shadow curling misshapen across the edge of the boulder; almost a reflection of their mental - and physical - battles being here. I think I’m starting to put a little too much thought into everything…Standing, Waveheart’s tail waved as he trotted over to dip his paws in the shallows of the normally viscous Whirling River. The water barely covered his paws, but it was enough for his plan. A paw slowly swirled as a mischievous look flickered over his ducked down face. In a flash the tom leaped up onto his back paws, sending a sailing arc of water towards Pebblestar atop her rock. “Caterpillar, if you could please come down and inform me of why I was pestered so stubbornly to accompany you here, that would truly be lovely.”

The chilling splash of water broke Pebblestar out of her proud stance, a less-than-dignified screech erupting from her as she leapt in the air.
"Waveheart!" She exclaimed, her tone high pitch and ears flattened, "It took me ages to get my fur looking like this for you!" Although, midway through her sentence, Pebblestar couldn't help but allow a giggle to break through her sentence and, in retaliation, she leapt at her unassuming mate, paws outstretched and fur puffed.
Landing with a soft 'oomph', Pebblestar glanced down to Waveheart with a soft expression. A surge of warmth washed over the she-cat, memories of their apprenticeship and everything they had been through trickling through her mind. Yet here they were. Stronger than ever and more than happy to be the partners-in-crime that they were all those moons okay.
"Okay in all seriousness, I bought you here for a reason." Pushing herself up and off of Waveheart, Pebblestar offered her paw to the downed tom before sitting up. Paws tucked neatly and tail surrounding her body. Her nerves were given away by the slight quiver in her whiskers.
"We have made it through thick and thin. Any battle Starclan sent us, we preserved and came out stronger than ever. With the Clans settled and our alliances strong...I was wondering um... how you would feel about...making our family bigger?"
Looking away in embarrassment, Pebblestar willed that Waveheart would understand what she was implying and not make her spell it out. Ever since she was young, she had vowed to never become the stereotypical molly that would throw her life away for kits. Yet she couldn't help the twinge in her heart that ached and mournfully cried for a family alongside Waveheart. Kits they could call their own. Kits they could raise to be the kindest, most giving souls known to the new territories. Cat: PebblestarClan:MossclanTags:@taityatwiWords:idk

Waveheart - MossClan Deputy Word Count: 472 Tag: amberWaveheart's ears flicked back at Pebblestar's screech, the rest of his body following shortly as her weight fell onto him. They landed with a small splash, his fur swirling in the half-paw height water. The cold of the river sent a chill through his coat, even as his heart warmed at the vision of his mate above. He could almost feel himself transported back to that moment, their first real connection in the coves of the past territories; he swam beneath her, a swipe of a paw teasing and tempting, her incredibly awkward swimming motion earning the nickname Caterpillar. Now she stood, the contrast of her bright pelt with the canopy above only emphasizing her light. The tom took the molly's paw and stood, stepping lightly to sit on the dry ground; he didn't shake off the water quite yet. The sensation still felt like home, and he'd often find himself sitting in the rain or volunteering to hunt or patrol in it just to get that sensation. Waveheart was sure many of the former rogues and loners thought him mad for doing so, but how does one explain that water feels like home? As Pebblestar began, he gave a light shake and started to lick the water off his coat. He tried to avoid being a big presence - she seemed nervous - but he couldn't help but freeze, tongue out, as she finished her speech. A dozen thoughts loomed as he lifted his head to look at her, but the one that stood out was how different their kits would grow up compared to them. For a moment, his heart ached for all that they'd left behind: the sound of the ocean crashing outside the dens, scent of the sea breeze, little shells other kits collected as he watched the waves, smell of freshly caught fish, that first swimming practice, the feeling of sand beneath your paws at a warm sunhigh. His heart heavy with mixed emotions, he stood. "M - ahem - My dear, I want nothing less," he purred, smiling. Another step closer, and he nuzzled the crook between her neck and shoulder, his paw placed lightly atop hers. "Although, in the event any one of them turn out like you were as an apprentice, StarClan help us, as parents, deputy, and leader" he added, a teasing tone woven within. Waveheart's tail curled round her back as he sat, his head resting lightly on her shoulder. He sat still for a moment before glancing up at the darkening sky, the first specks of starlight beginning to appear. Who was watching them continue the same cycle - of the Clans, of family - that generations before had done as well. Perhaps it was an ancestor of theirs, or someone neither of them knew. For a brief second, he thought of Rattledance. Keeping her happy, yeah?

With warming cheeks, Pebblestar was unable to prevent the purr that burst from her chest. Fur puffing up in both embarrassment and pride - the molly was weak to her wills and leant deeply into Waveheart's side. She often pondered how she was so lucky to get ahold of such a kind, giving tom and keep a hold of him. Especially considering how...wild she was an apprentice. Full of life, searching for the next fight, meeting with that one cat who just got away...yes, she had to agree. Starclan help them should one of their kits end up like the pair of them.
"If they ever get too unruly we can always dump them on Lakefire for an afternoon. That would get them sorted out easily." Mrowing in amusement as her own plan, Pebblestar's shoulders shook at the look on their future kits faces. She could only imagine what their loyal Medicine cat's face was going to look at when she announced that they were expecting. However, at that thought, she fell silent for a moment - pondering and comtemplating.
"If we go ahead with this," She began carefully, "you may need to step up as leader for a few moons. I will, of course, try to be back up onto my paws in no time but...I don't think the other clan leaders would find it very inspiring if I showed up freshly kitted." Pebblestar's face twisted, ears flickering as her mind raced. "But then on the other paw...maybe it would be good for Mossclan's image. I wouldn't want any of the others getting any ideas of our clean being weak. Do you think that would be the case? Oh stars, is this a good idea?"
Her mind quickly spiralling, Pebblestar flopped down dramatically, paws covering her face as she whined in despair. "Aspenstar would have no issue...Creekstar would be delighted...I'm sure Rowanstar wouldn't care...but what if they decide they could do with some extra territory or extra prey?!" Though she knew she was being dramatic, the still young molly couldn't help but wish Starclan would give her some kind of sign that herself and Waveheart should go ahead with this. Her chest still ebbed and ached at the tom she felt she was betraying and taking this step forward in their partnership felt too definitive. Too final.
Oh stars, she could really do with some guidance right now.
