Part 1: Kitten-hood Quiet paced outside of an abandoned rabbit warren, tail whipping back and forth as he waited anxiously for Salmon, the colony healer, to climb out and give him news. His mate, Bluebird, had been in the cool of the warren with Salmon, having been in labor since sun high. The sun was now setting behind the mountains in the distance.
Then the old healer squeezed out of the narrow den entrance, fur damp and smelling coppery as he surfaced. “What happened? Is she alright?” Quiet bombarded Salmon with worried questions, trying to see past the tom. Salmon pushed Quiet back with a paw and sighed heavily, “It was…. Difficult. For her and the kitten. But both will be okay.” The old tom looked at the young father before continuing, “You can see them now if you’d like, but don’t overwhelm her. I’ll be back with herbs.”

Barrelmoon’s Lament
(Add line here)
Brief Summary: (Italics) Barrelmoon feels homesick after many moons of being away from his birthplace. He misses the smell of warm hay and the sound of the rooster crowing in the morning. The familiar scents of his siblings are all but a faint memory by now. He considers leaving the clan for awhile, wondering if he’s really cut out for a life away from the farmland. Would Darcy still be there? Would she welcome him? He does not know, but eventually he realizes that he doesn’t need to leave:’

A Mountain of Starlings and Asters
(Line here)
Brief Summary: (Italics) 22 moons old and still to-be’s, something that would normally frustrate a young tribe cat but didn’t seem to bother the two she-cats, Starling flying through Sun Rays and Aster hiding where Thorns grow. At least that’s what Aster thinks until Starling asks her to talk outside of their cozy den. (Italics)
(Line here)
A paw rested on the caramel molly’s shoulder, gently shaking her awake, “Aster. Aster?” Her ears twitched and tail flicked in annoyance as she slowly roused from sleep, her mouth opening to snap at the cat for waking her until she realized the cat shaking her was her sister. Starling laughed at Aster’s slightly relieved but still annoyed expression. The older sibling stretched and asked, “It’s the middle of the night.. what’s wrong?”
The younger sibling wasn’t even surprised that Aster asked, the two could read each other better than the Poolwalker could read the stars. That’s what Starling thinks anyway. She turned to slip out of their den, a crack in the rock walls of the tribe’s home, before answering, “Just some things on my mind. Let’s talk away from prying ears.” The black she-cat didn’t even wait for Aster to respond as she quietly left along a well worn path to a quieter spot. She didn’t have to worry though, her sister’s scuffing paw steps gave her away as she followed.
