What to heck is a tribe?
For general tribe information, please check out the official warriors wiki here!
The Tribe of Painted Pools is Starbound's resident tribe. They themselves journeyed to the new territories many moons before the clans did. Their territory is northeast to the clans and consists of a lake with an island and cliffs layered with foggy waterfalls. At the Star Cliffs, the clans and tribe have their respective sacred cave where they connect with their ancestors. A medicine cat or Poolwalker will submerge themselves in the water, commune with either Starclan or the Tribe of Endless Hunting, and come out of their ceremony completely dry. Little do they know, but the water between these two caves are shared. Maybe the clans and tribe aren't so different after all.
The Poolwalker: This cat functions as the clan equivalent of both the medicine cat and leader. Unlike clan cats, The Poolwalker only has one life. They are the only ones allowed to enter the body of water contained in the Sacred Cave and commune with The Tribe of Endless Hunting. Poolwalkers also have the responsibility of choosing what duty a to-be will train in at 6 moons and facilitate their graduation with their mentor at 12 moons.
The Poolwalker is allowed to keep their original tribe name and be referred to it casually by friends and family, though many cats will refer to them by their title out of respect.
Water-waders: Tribe cats that specialize in water-related hunting and fighting. These cats may be on the slimmer and short-haired side.
Range-guards: Tribe cats that specialize in cliff and land-related hunting and fighting. These cats may be on the larger and long-furred side, though size and shape doesnโt really matter.
To-Be: The tribe equivalent of an apprentice. The Poolwalker will determine which path a kit will take, a range-guard or a water-wader, and assign the kit a mentor. To-bes can change their assigned calling, though this is rarely done. An item can be purchased from the store to choose with path a to-be will take. To-bes that are created at the age of 6 moons and older will also be able to decide their own path.
Kit-Mother: The tribe equivalent of a Queen. When a molly is unable to keep up with her duties due to pregnancy, she will become a kit-mother and be cared for by the rest of the tribe until her kits are 6 moons old. She is provided with mushrooms during birthing to help with pain and to more creatively name her kits.
Naming convention: โKit-mothers name their kits after the first thing they see after the birth of their kits, for example, Brook Where Small Fish Swim, or Jagged Rock Where Heron Sits. Unlike the cats of the Clans, Tribe cats shorten their names (e.g. Brook, Jag).โ via the Tribe Wiki.
Religious Beliefs: The Tribe of Endless Hunting contains ancestors from the Tribe of Painted Pools. They communicate with the Poolwalker once a moon and tell them which path a to-be should take and relay any warnings or omens. This is the Tribe equivalent of Starclan.
Mushrooms: The mushrooms grown in the Tribeโs caves are used for medicinal purposes and are especially important for the Tribeโs rituals of life and death. As is tradition, mothers are expected to name their kit the first thing they see when the kit is born. Mothers that are kitting will be fed a small dosage, thus sending them on a โtripโ, helping them name the kit a bit more creatively than what the mossy cave walls call for.

Tribe Ceremonies
Birthing Ceremony: The Poolwalker (and their to-be) will assist Kit-mothers through the birthing process. A small dosage of mushrooms will be administered to the mother to help them with the pain and to name their kits in the tribe fashion after "the first thing they see".
To-Be Ceremony: both the Water-Wader and Range-Guard ceremony begins with the to-be receiving paint marks from their mentor first, then their family. These ceremonies aren't meant to be exciting to watch, but physically and mentally taxing for the to-be as they pass into adulthood. Later that night, the friends and family of the graduated to-bes may throw a celebration.
If the cat is severely injured and about to die, a small dose of mushrooms is usually provided to relieve their pain and allow them to pass peacefully.

Water-Waders: The to-be will make their way to the base of the waterfall close to the tribe's cave-island. They will swim against the flow of the water with their mentor for as long as they possibly can. This is a test of both endurance and will.
Range-Guards: The to-be will lead all of the patrols for the day (dawn, morning, afternoon, and dusk). This will teach them the importance of working with other cats and show off their ability to navigate and guard tribe territory.Death Ceremony: Usually, this only involves family and friends. A time of giving of close comfort (tribe version of sharing tongues) is called for and a few words are spoken about the recently departed. Deceased cats are then buried on the cliffs, close to the stars.
